Meeting Customer Needs Both Digitally and In-Person

Anita Drentlaw

The unfortunate physical restrictions of 2020 as well as our culture’s ever-growing shift to digital platforms have increased New Market Bank’s need to serve our customers whenever, wherever, and however they prefer. Now more than ever, we must offer our customers a range of digital banking tools while still providing dedicated, in-person banking for those who prefer to stop by our physical locations in Lakeville, Prior Lake, and Elko New Market.

This is one of the many steps that we at New Market Bank make to ensure that our customers do not feel as though they are missing out on features by choosing to bank locally.

We recently launched two new enhancements to help our customers manage their finances and complete transactions digitally:

  • Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay capabilities. Customers can now use their New Market Bank debit cards to seamlessly make purchases through their smart phones without making direct physical contact. Not only are these digital transactions convenient – no more fumbling with your wallet at check out – they also minimize contact with frequently touched card readers and keypads.
  • New Market Bank Anywhere, our new online and mobile banking platform, which provides a convenient, easy-to-use way for customers to view statements, pay bills and people, transfer funds, and much more. The new app, available from the App Store and Google Play now, and website have a consistent user interface as well as a new ability for customers to communicate directly with our team members through a sleek direct messaging system. Although not a perfect substitute for face-to-face interactions, this new feature will allow our customers who prefer digital banking to personally connect with our team , which is a staple of our local bank. Our team members who tested our new system prior to its launch are convinced our customers will love all it has to offer.

While digital platforms bring undeniable benefits of ease and availability, we do not overlook the importance of in-person interactions. We still believe the relationships between our bank and the communities in which we serve are the driving force behind New Market Bank’s continued success. In a culture straying away from brick-and-mortar establishments, we stand firm in our belief that customers keep coming back to New Market Bank because of their connections with the bank and our team. Our team members are the people you see at local sporting events, restaurants, and church gatherings. We are your friends, neighbors, and even family members. Connections to our communities are the basis on which New Market Bank was founded upon five generations and 115 years ago, and it will continue to be our driving force well into the future.
