Community Giving Criteria

Since our founding in 1905, New Market Bank has been committed to supporting our community through our financial products, services and expertise, as well as through volunteering, and in-kind and monetary donations. Many organizations request our support each year, and while we’d love to support each one, we focus our giving in select areas to have greater impact in the areas. Please review the criteria below prior to submitting an online request for an event sponsorship, silent auction item or general funding request. Please allow 30 days for us to process your request.

What we provide financial support for:
Monetary and in-kind donations are only made to established 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) or 501(c)(6) nonprofits. The nonprofits must benefit the communities where New Market Bank operates: Elko New Market, Lakeville or Prior Lake and neighboring communities. Additionally, priority may be given to requests from current New Market Bank customers.

Beyond these universal criteria, we focus our giving on the following types of organizations:

  1. Youth development/enrichment, particularly programs encouraging financial literacy, entrepreneurship and mentorship.
  2. Organizations promoting personal and public safety.
  3. Programming for seniors/older adults.
  4. Organizations encouraging business growth and entrepreneurship.
  5. Organizations in which our employees are involved.
  6. Benefits for individuals facing hardship due to catastrophic loss or medical diagnosis, particularly those for whom New Market Bank holds a benefit account.

What we do not provide financial support for:

  1. For-profit entities
  2. Individual youth sports teams
  3. Section 509(a)(3) supporting organizations
  4. Private foundations
  5. Endowments or memorial campaigns
  6. Organizations that discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, sex, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, disability, marital status, genetic information, veteran status or other factors that are protected by law
  7. Political organizations or organizations designed primarily to lobby
  8. Individuals seeking scholarships or fellowship assistance
  9. Travel and related expenses including student trips and tours
  10. Capital campaigns
